Unionville, NY 10988 School Information Town Demographics Just for Fun - What's in the area? Homes for Sale in Unionville The Village of Unionville is nestled between NY Route 284 and the Appalachian Trail on the southwestern edge of Orange County, New York. Unionville shares a common border with the Town of Wantage in northwestern New Jersey. Although originally settled 50 years before the start of the American Revolution, it was not until the early 1820's that the settlement began answering to the name of "Unionville". Another 48 years would pass before the official incorporation of the village took place on August 22, 1871. Once a bustling commercial center for the Town of Minisink's wide-spread dairy industry, Unionville was side-stepped by the economic and transportation explosions of the second half of the 20th century. However, despite being located "off the beaten track", Unionville is still relatively close to large commercial, manufacturing, distribution and industrial centers and have adapted very nicely to their present role as a quiet little "bedroom and/or second home" community.
